Leonard Lopatin, a native of New York City, began playing the flute at the age of twelve and went on to study with Harold Bennett at the Manhattan School of Music. Later he studied with Arthur Lora at the Juilliard School, earning his Bachelor of Music degree in flute performance in May, 1976. |

He trained with one of the Boston area's top flute companies, where he worked for fifteen years, before founding Lopatin Flute Company in 1994. His extensive experience as a flutist and high skill as a flutemaker were now forged into one unified force. |
